Nearly 100 invited guests and volunteers packed the Hemingford Pavilion on Friday 11 November for Pavilions Pictures' launch film, 'Water for Elephants'.
George Jackson, Pavilion Pictures' Chairman, opened the proceedings with a few words about the new community cinema and led the minute's silence, which was doubly appropriate as the Pavilion forms part of the Hemingford Peace Memorial Field, which was established in 1946 as a war memorial after WWII.
The Picture House team is currently working its way through the survey results, but it appears that the cinema has a big thumbs up and tickets have already been sold for the first 'general release' film on Friday 9 December.
Volunteers are due to leaflet both villages in the coming days, so head to the Pavilion Bar or Hemingford Stores quickly to beat the crowds and secure your seat for the next film. We look forward to seeing you!
